Amelia Ryan is Lady Liberty at The Music Lounge

A not to miss cabaret show at the new The Music Lounge featuring award winning star, Amelia Ryan.

Having played to sold out houses throughout Australia, Edinburgh and New York City with her hit show “A Storm in a D Cup”, Wollongong’s own multi-award wining cabaret darling,Amelia Ryan, returns with her latest creation, LADY LIBERTY!

Like many of us, Amelia is trapped in her own perusal purgatory, somewhere between the life she longs to lead (content, calm and perhaps even classy) and the life she’s left behind (a daily dalliance with disaster). This Girl…ahem Lady…wants Liberty.

Through her signature blend of scintillating stories, hilarious parodies, and soaring vocals, Amelia asks How does one become a Lady (or Lad) of Liberty? Is it through meditation or Moët? Love or labiaplasty? Monogamy or ménage et tois? With both heart and hilarity she tackles many of the questions women face in the quest to ‘have it all’.

Unbridled and unashamed, she explores the gamut of liberation; social, sexual, political and personal, taking the audience along for the ride. Colouring the music of artists such as Cyndi Lauper, Whitney Houston, and Pharrell Williams with her own witty lyricism, Ryan shares her stellar stories through razor sharp humour and heart-warming honesty. She takes liberties, she speaks liberally, she even has a dig at the Liberal Party, but she ultimately encourages us to let go, to let live and be LIBERATED.
