Colin Hay (Men at Work) Live at Wollongong Town Hall
You may remember him accepting a Grammy award in 1983, as the lead singer, guitarist and principle songwriter of Men at Work? You may have seen and heard him play “Overkill” on Scrubs or listened to his 11 solo albums?
Perhaps you were introduced to him through his song “I Just Don’t Think I’ll Ever Get Over You” on the soundtrack of Garden State, or watched him closing the Sydney Olympics with the timeless treasure “Down Under”?
For those yet to be initiated, Colin Hay’s live performance is an astonishing, powerful journey, sometimes straight down the main road, sometimes following the twists and turns of the road less traveled
“Hay had the crowd doubling over with laughter for what seemed like half the show. Yes, we paid to hear that pure, raspy voice sing those incredible songs, but this was like getting two shows in one.”
Kevin Triebsch, The Silver Tongue
Colin will be joined by two Cuban musicians, San Miguel Perez and Yosmel Montejo along with Cecilia Noel on vocals.
Hay is at the absolute peak of his craft, he only gets better with age, as a writer, storyteller and vocalist, he has never been more masterful.
“Colin Hay isn’t just an icon or figure of musicians past; he’s a seamless representation of the greats of our time, alive and well in the here and now.” Cicily Janus – The Huffington Post Entertainment
