Jennifer and Jason Turnbull’s – Songs of Stage and Screen – Every song has a story

Jennifer and Jason Turnbull bring their talents and their love of Broadway musicals and opera together in their new show Songs of Stage and Screen.

Jennifer is a Wollongong local and grew up there before moving to Queensland and eventually London to pursue her singing dream. It was in Queensland that she met Jason, who by then was already singing with undoubtedly one of Australia’s greatest entertainment success stories The Ten TenorsThe Ten Tenors achievements included six platinum and gold records, over 3.5 million concert tickets sold and have performed alongside legends such as Andrea Bocelli, André Rieu, John Travolta, Nicole Kidman, Rod Stewart, and many more.

Despite the challenges of touring life and always being on opposite sides of the world, they somehow ended up together and settled in Wollongong with their two children.

Jason grew up in Toowoomba, where he started performing in local musical theatre productions from an early age. He has maintained a lifelong love of the ‘Golden Era’ musical theatre productions, such as Oklahoma, Guys & Dolls, The King & I, South Pacific and West Side Story.

In their latest show classically trained Jennifer and Jason bring together hit songs from the big screen along with classics from the stage including My Baby Just Cares For Me, Come Fly With Me, My Funny Valentine and more.

 Each Music in the Morning concert springs open at 10am with a complimentary morning tea, where the audience can meet and mingle in a relaxed setting before the live music begins at 11am.  Performed by well-known stars from the stage, and featuring a range of musical classics, this series of Music in the Morning at Wollongong Town Hall runs from February to June.  Each show is filled with laughs and toe-tapping melodies for you to enjoy.
