New Year’s Eve Fireworks | Wollongong and Beyond
Say a fond farewell to 2017 and bring in 2018 with a ‘BANG’ with New Year’s Eve fireworks in Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Nowra and Berry.

Celebrate the new year with us at this family-friendly, alcohol-free event at Belmore Basin in Wollongong.
Live music, roving performers, face painting, amusement rides, and food and novelty stalls provide a lively atmosphere in the lead-up to our fireworks spectacular at 9pm.
Program of Events
5pm – 10pm: Stalls and rides open plus free Circus Drop Zone.
8pm: Spotlight performances: vocal, dance and aerial.
9pm – Fireworks and lightshow.
We recommend catching the train to Fairy Meadow, North Wollongong or Wollongong stations, and then jumping on the free Gong Shuttle Bus.

Between 4pm – 10.15pm on New Year’s Eve the following roads will be closed:
- Cliff Road between Georges Place and Marine Drive
- Harbour Street between Cliff Road and Smith Street, including Old Court House Lane
- Harbour access ramp off Endeavour Drive.
Between 8.30pm – 9.30pm lower Endeavour Drive will also be closed.
Businesses within the road closure zone will be open as normal.

Where: Shellharbour Club
The Shellharbour Club is proud to once again bring the New Year’s Eve fireworks to the Shellharbour community in one fireworks show at 10.00pm! The best place to view the fireworks will be on the outdoor terrace and the fireworks will be fired from the club grounds.
From 5pm – 10pm the kids will love the free Underwater Wonderland in the Tasman Room with entertainment for the grown ups in the Lounge from 6pm – 1am.

Kiama’s already popular New Year’s Eve fireworks will be even bigger and better in 2017!
The Kiama New Year’s Eve Sky Show will be the biggest coastal show outside of Sydney, including a bigger and better fireworks display, while introducing a series of laser light shows.

4pm – 10.30pm: Eat Street at Hindmarsh Park and Black Beach.
5pm – 10.45pm: Live music in Hindmarsh Park.
5pm – 10pm: Carnival rides.
9pm – 9.12pm: Fireworks
9.15pm – 9.30pm: Laser Light Show at Kiama Harbour
10pm – 10.12pm: Laser Light Show at Kiama Harbour
Destination Kiama is also encouraging families to consider ‘training it’ for the NYE Sky Show.
Sydney Trains will be running services through Wollongong to Kiama approximately every hour, with return services lasting till midnight (www.sydneytrains.info).

Races are held throughout the afternoon with TAB, live music, food, bar and children’s activities all on offer.
Activities thereafter continue into the night, with more live music, food, bar, children’s activities, glow items and fireworks all being held on site.
Celebrating New Year’s Eve at Shoalhaven City Turf Club is fast becoming an annual ritual for many people in the area to relax, socialise, dance & finally enjoy the fantastic fireworks display.
The canteen and bar will both be open and limited seating will be available. If you’d rather, you may BYO food, picnic rugs / chairs however no drinks of any kind may be brought on site.
Entry is free in the evening for all patrons; so come along and say farewell to the year at Shoalhaven City Turf Club.

The New Years Eve Fireworks Spectacular and Family Fun Night staged by the Rotary Club of Berry is on again at Berry Showground.
The fun commences at 5pm with numerous free, good old fashioned games for the children to play. There is entertainment throughout the evening including the Roy Cow Cow Band and children’s favourite – Pirate Pete. Showmow Racing will also again stage their super exciting ride-on lawn mower racing. There is also a huge range of carnival rides, market stalls and plenty of food outlets.
Then at 9pm the magnificent fireworks spectacular lights up the night skies – you need to be there to experience the thrill of sitting directly beneath them – few other fireworks displays are as exciting as this.
Families are encouraged to bring a rug and make a real picnic night of it. This is an alcohol-free event with proceeds going towards the Rotary Club’s fundraising for a community nature playground and parkland in North Street, Berry, plus its many other activities.
ENTRY: $7.50 per person. Children under 15 yrs FREE
