Why I Love Being Part of Rotary as a Young Member - Chase Murray Joining Rotary has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It’s not just about networking or attending meetings—it’s about being part of a community that genuinely cares. From day one, I was welcomed by a group of people who are passionate about making a difference, not just in our local area but around the world. What makes Rotary special is the sense of belonging. It’s a diverse group of individuals from all walks of life, coming together with a shared goal of helping others. Whether it’s organizing community events, supporting local charities, or simply being there for each other, the members of Rotary are always ready to lend a hand.
Why I joined Rotary - Anne McQueen I joined Dapto Rotary Club in January 2008. Up until that time, I had undertaken volunteering at my children’s schools. When they had finished their education, I was looking for an opportunity to become involved in some form of volunteer work….. to “give back” to society.
I was approached to check out the Rotary Club as I worked in Dapto. I was made to feel welcome and now have many good friends through my association with the Club. I would probably not have met most of these people otherwise. It is very satisfying working on our various projects and seeing the difference we can make on our local community, our nation and the world.
Why I joined Rotary - Gayle Malcolm I have been a member of Rotary Club of Dapto for 6 years. I joined after I retired from teaching. As I worked out of the area for several years, I had little community involvement and a limited network of friends. After the shine of not being busy had faded I knew I needed to get out into my community. Joining Dapto Rotary was the best thing I could have done. The work that the club performs in the local area is amazing - from clean-ups, community BBQs to environmental projects.
My passion is working with young people, and I was given the opportunity to connect with our Youth Programs both on a local and District level. Visiting schools and being involved in debates and public speaking gave me a new lease of life.
