The Science Centre and Planetarium is the only major hands-on science centre in NSW. It offers exciting science experiences which are suitable for all ages. Visitors can enjoy shows in our very own science theatre or browse the many interactive exhibits. With an extensive shop, cafe and kiosk facilities, located on the University of Wollongong’s Innovation Campus, the Science Centre offers a complete visit.
With more than 100 hands-on exhibits that challenge the imagination and engage the senses, it’s a place where science is big and bright and bold and noisy. From dinosaurs to electricity, machines to astronomy, the exhibits creatively explore the science of the world around us and educate through entertainment.
It’s a laboratory where experiments demand turning, throwing, pushing and pulling, and lab coats aren’t required. Where science is translated using hands and feet, eyes and ears, and theories are experienced not dictated. Where discovery is motivated by enthusiasm and everyone makes a breakthrough.
Bringing science to life and opening minds, it’s a place that inspires the innovators of tomorrow.
