160th Anniversary & Carols on the Lawn

Sunday 15th December is the 160th anniversary of the consecration of St Michael’s Anglican Cathedral in Wollongong. To celebrate, we’re hosting a variety of family-friendly community events over the 14th and 15th of December.

On Saturday 14th, there will be a Classic Hymn Sing in the Cathedral at 10am (accompanied by the church organ and a string quartet) along with Devonshire Tea and bacon and egg rolls for sale between 9am and 12pm. Guests are also invited on a guided heritage tour of the cathedral with our senior Minister, Sandy Grant.

On Sunday 15th, we are hosting Christmas art and craft markets from 4:30pm with food trucks and a coffee van on the church grounds. There’s also our annual outdoor Carols on the Lawn service at 6pm, with a modern band rocking our classic Christmas carols and puppets from Quizworx.

Proceeds raised over the weekend will go towards Anglicare & Australian Drought Relief.
