On the Couch-HIV & the Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Community
Registrations are now open for On The Couch- HIV & the Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Community at the Nan Tien Institute.
On the Couch aims to get up close and personal with a panel of speakers who will be hosted by facilitator Jodielee Little, Nurse Unit Manager for the Illawarra Shoalhaven Sexual Health Service. Our intention is for this to be a safe space, but nonetheless, one where the audience can ask questions and engage freely.
Guest speakers on the panel will be: Dai Aoki is an active member of the Sydney gay community and has been HIV positive for more than 15 years. Dai migrated to Australia in 2001 from Japan.
Zainab Ali Kahiye is a Somalian woman who has lived with HIV for 35 years. A mother of six and grandmother to eleven, Zainab has called Australian home since 1998.
Dr Katherine Brown has been Medical Director of Illawarra Shoalhaven Sexual Health Service since 1995. Katherine is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Wollongong and the University of Sydney with a strong interest in health education.
