Dating with a Disability is a unique event that facilitates people living with a disability to come together and enjoy a fantastic night out! It is an opportunity to meet new people, make long-lasting friendships and maybe even find love in a fun and inclusive environment.
We are hosting this event at the beautiful Lagoon Restaurant in North Wollongong overlooking the beach. The night will include a delicious sit down meal with an alternate drop of two main meals (Braised beef cheeks or Chicken Schnitzel) plus dessert (Triple Choc Brownie or Raspberry Cheesecake) - (dietary requirements also available), the Lagoon's signature mocktails and soft drink are also included. Plus we will have an amazing host, Jade Tonta, and some very special celebrity guests with actor, Michael Theo being our Guest of Honour.
It is a night to facilitate connection for those people living with a disability within our community. It is a fun night out and a way to make new friends as well as having the opportunity to find a future date from the night. Each guest will be given a wristband to indicate whether they are looking for love or friendship... so there is no pressure at all and the environment is so supportive and inclusive.
Throughout the night there will be fun Matchmaking games; Trivia; Finish the Lyric...and more! We will provide a speed-dating table that you will have the opportunity to participate in if you wish. We will also have name tags and the facility to swap numbers if you both consent to see each other in the future, whether it be as a love interest or a new friendship.
And of course we will have the amazing DJ Hami spinning the decks; a dance floor with laser light show; and a really fun Photo Booth so you can have great photos with new friends! There will be so many amazing prizes from our fantastic sponsors, including a lucky door prize. The Lagoon Restaurant also has a wonderful enclosed area that overlooks the ocean for guests to relax in, chat and have a break from the sensory overload of the main dining and disco area. This space is cosily heated during winter.
