    This November, Wollongong City Libraries is buzzing with everything you need to know about native bees, inspiring artists, Regency gowns, and surf safety prep for our youngest library visitors! 

    How to book

    Events are marked as either bookings required or just drop in. For those requiring bookings, visit the Wollongong City Libraries website and follow the links on the events page, or call your local library to reserve your place. All events are free unless ticket prices are listed.

    Saturday 1 November - Seed and Sapling Swap at Corrimal Library, 10-11am

    Come swap seeds or saplings with other garden enthusiasts. Free, just drop in.

    Monday 3 November - Get Ready! A school transition program for children and parents at Warrawong Library, 10.30-11.30am

    A four-week program designed to help children and their parents/carers feel more confident about beginning kindergarten. Free, bookings required.

    Wednesday 5 November - Authors in Conversation: Hayley Scrivenor and Vanessa McCausland at Helensburgh Library, 5.30-6.30pm

    A conversation about writing literary fiction with crime or mystery at its core. Free, bookings required.

    Secret lives of Wollongong’s native bees at Wollongong Library, 6-7.30pm

    Join native bee enthusiast Alison Mellor for a lively and informative talk about the fascinating hidden lives of our native pollinators.

    Friday 7 November - Get Creative: Book Art at Warrawong Library, 10am-12pm

    Turn old pages into new possibilities in this hands-on craft activity. Free, bookings required.

    Let's Try... Speed Puzzling at Thirroul Library (Ages 18+), 5-7pm

    Grab a group of friends and see how quickly you can do a 500-piece jigsaw.

    Wednesday 12 November - Surf Safety Storytime at Wollongong Library, 10-10.45am

    Time to turn your little swimmer into a surf safety pro at this Storytime led by real local lifeguards. Free, just drop in.

    Author Talk with Sarah Rowan at Helensburgh Library, 5-6pm

    Join artist Sarah Rowan as she discusses her new book, The Creativity Cycle. Free, bookings required.

    Let's Try... Tai Chi at Warrawong Library (Ages 18+), 5-6pm

    Experience the calming benefits of Tai Chi in this gentle beginner session with simple breathing techniques and flowing movements. Free, bookings required.

    Thursday 13 November - Stories in the Park at Bulli Beach Reserve Playground, 10-11am

    Enjoy some stories, rhymes and songs outdoors with your friendly local library staff. Free, just drop by.

    Friday 14 November - Surf Safety Storytime at Helensburgh Library, 10.30-11.15am

    Time to turn your little swimmer into a surf safety pro at this Storytime led by real local lifeguards. Free, just drop in.

    Let' s Try... Naughty Pottery at Dapto Library (ages 18+), 6-8pm

    A playful and hands-on evening of clay crafting for adults with the fabulous Wonder Mama. $25 per person, bookings required.

    Bring an old pair of jeans to turn them into beautiful, beaded denim feathers. Perfect for earrings, keychains, or a bag charm. Free, bookings required.

    Connect and have fun screen-free time with your family. Free, bookings required.

    Social night for people with disability at Wollongong Library (Ages 18+), 6-8pm

    Enjoy an evening of fun crafts, disco, and games after hours at the library. Free, bookings required.

    Saturday 29 November - Board Game Day (Ages 18+) at Wollongong Library, 10am-5pm

    Come along alone or with your mates, and play a range of board, card, and dice-based games. Free, just drop in.
