    SCREEN ILLAWARRA PRESENTS: EXTERIOR LIGHTING WORKSHOP FUNDED BY SCREEN NSW, WITH GLENN HANNS (ACS) & GUEST SPEAKER DAN HOPPER |

    When: Saturday, 28th June (10:00am - 2:00pm AEST) |

    Where: Digital Media Centre, Mike Codd Building, Innovation Campus, North Wollongong NSW, Australia |

    Cost: This is a free event for current Screen Illawarra members, thanks to Screen NSW funding. Non-members can join as a Student or Professional Member.

    This short course looks at technical and aesthetic ideas that will enhance your exterior lighting skills, making your work appear more professional. This event is specifically aimed at those interested in learning about filmmaking, and possibly for people who are about to make a film and need some tips, or who have an interest in working in the industry as a gaffer or cinematographer.

    There is a limited capacity for this event so get in quick!

    GLENN HANNS (ACS ACCREDITED CINEMATOGRAPHER):

    Glenn Hanns has been lighting for 30 years professionally and has seen many ways of lighting an interview. Having shot thousands of interviews himself, he has come up with some tricks and tips to help you elevate your lighting skills. Glenn is an accredited ACS Cinematographer whose award-winning work spans narrative features, documentary and music clips. He's passionate about lighting and loves sharing knowledge with others.

    Topics include:

    • How to use light meters
    • Lighting Ratios
    • Reflectance vs Ambient light readings
    • Key/Fill/Backlight, background light, kickers, eye light
    • Book lights
    • Travel kits vs studio, location setups
    • Tips and Techniques

    Come prepared with lots of questions, a keen attitude to learn, a notepad for your notes, and we look forward to seeing you there!
