Dad Space Fridays at Early Start Discovery Space

Are you a father, father figure or male caregiver?

Join us for this new, unique program every Friday, 10am - 11am, designed specifically to support fathers, father figures and male caregivers in children’s lives.

These programs have been co-designed by the Discovery Space team, and Early Start researchers Amy Hofmeier, Dr Jane Herbert, seeking to create a space where fathers and father-figures can build stronger connections with their children and learn from experts about the unique impact they have on their child’s life.  

We know that fathers play a critical role in their children’s development. Studies highlight that children with engaged, warm fathers have fewer emotional and behavioural problems, are more self-confident and prosocial, and perform better academically. Despite this growing body of evidence there is a clear lack of social support and resources to help men develop their skills and confidence in parenting.
