WWF Kids Program at Viva La Gong
The Wollongong Writers Festival has brought back their Kids Program, this time as part of Wollongong’s fabulous annual Viva La Gong!
In amongst the many activities taking place in MacCabe Park in Wollongong, the WWF Kids Program will be abuzz with interactivities and live readings from local emerging children’s and young adults’ authors.
Mary Van Reyk has worked in bookshops, travelled the world, and now works in Aboriginal Affairs and lives in Austinmer. Her first children’s book, The Surf Riders Club: Ava’s Big Move is published through Hachette.
Jody Cauduro is a local children’s author and teacher who is hooked on learning about our amazing world. She is keen to share some of these discoveries in a fun series of books for children aged 2 – 8 years, called The Rainbow Mysteries.
Patricia Simmons lives in Scarborough on the beautiful NSW south coast with her menagerie of cats, dogs and stick-insects. Her work has been published in anthologies and children’s magazines (including NSW School Magazine, Alphabet Soup & Looking Glass Magazine).
Dianne Ellis writes poetry, picture books, chapter books, short stories and the most lovable of her story characters is Rusty Rumble, who boasts three picture books. She will also be launching Mr Crocodile’s Cooking Class this year.
Come pay us a visit, no entry fee required, and bring your kids for some interactive literary fun! They can decorate their own book bag, make an animal character mask, colour in a book page, and even make there own zine!
