If you are stuck in isolation or just being cautious about who you come in contact with, you might be pleased to hear about a new initiative that is sweeping through the local food-service industry called No-Contact Delivery.
No-Contact Delivery is a new option being offered for phone and online orders in certain locations. So how does it work? Your order will arrive as normal. The driver will let you know when they are outside your location. From there, your driver will then bring your order to the requested delivery spot before backing away the required 1.5 – 2 meters and wait until the order is collected from inside.
It all sounds a bit clinical, doesn’t it? But, it does serve a purpose, especially when confined to your home and trying to feed your family.
I first came across this when ordering from the Wollongong Crust Pizza location however in the last few days, many food delivery businesses have begun offering this service. Keep in mind, it doesn’t happen for every delivery. If you don’t specifically opt into the service, they will deliver your food using the usual methods.
If you are in isolation or lock-down and ordering meals online, ask the delivery service about no-contact delivery before placing your order.
Please note that we will continue to update this Article with further food delivery options as they become available.
