Once a petrol station on Port Kembla’s Wentworth Street is now home to the newest kid on the entertainment scene, The Servo – Food Truck Bar. Conceived in 2018, this location has quickly established themselves as one of the most diverse and inclusive live music venues in the Illawarra with an all-ages space that is wheelchair accessible and is free from irritating poker machines.
The creative forces behind the project prioritised the need for a live music and entertainment venue that could be accessible to the entire community and act as a safe social space for the local music scene to create and inspire.
The Servo also has your local favourites cold and at the ready. Coal Coast Brewing, Illawarra Brewing Company, Darks Cider, Headlands Distilling Co., Ireland Cider and Young Henry’s are just a few of the breweries supported on-site. My favourite part is the attention to specialty non-alcoholic options such as Little Blue, a delicious non-alcoholic cider brewed by Darks Cider that my children are in love with, as well as Sobah, a non-alcoholic beer.
If that wasn’t enough to have you convinced that this live music venue just south of Wollongong is the place to be, I’ve got two words for you. Food Trucks.
That’s right, every Friday and Saturday night, dinner before the show can be found on-site at one of the incredible Food Trucks providing tasty sustenance for the show to come. With a variety of different cuisines available, each evening’s Food Truck of-the-day is a lucky dip of amazing eats.
