    Christmas Carols – Wollongong

    MacCabe Park Carols – Thursday 12 December

    Get ready for a magical evening at MacCabe Park! Join the fun on December 12, from 7-8:30 pm, for a festive Christmas Carols event that you won’t want to miss. Wollongong City Council is teaming up with The Conservatorium of Wollongong (WollCon) to make this night special!

    WollCon’s talented Voice Teacher, Trish Delaney-Brown, will lead an amazing band featuring WollCon’s staff and delightful performances from the WollCon children’s choirs and the Hummingbirds. Plus, the Circus Monoxide Youth Troupe is bringing their Christmas circus show, and there will even be some cheerful elves joining in the fun!

    The best part? It’s completely free, and everyone is invited! Enjoy face painting, lively music, a special visit from Santa, heart-warming carols, and so much more. We can’t wait to celebrate the holiday season with you!  Learn more here.

    The Song Company’s ‘Hark!’ is returning to Wollongong this year, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Guest-directed by Andrew O’Connor, this show is touring Wollongong, Newcastle, Sydney, and Blackheath. This extraordinary show reflects on and celebrates “the Christmas story and the little everyday miracle of new life with music and poetry old and new, both sacred and secular” (O’Connor). Wollongong’s show will be held on November 30 at 6 pm at St Xavier Francis Cathedral (36 Harbour Street, Wollongong). Tickets available here

    Join us for the annual classic ‘Carols in the Cathedral‘ at St Michael’s Anglican Cathedral in Wollongong on Christmas Eve (24 December). These services will be held at 10:30 am, 5 pm (also live-streamed), and 7 pm, and the service at St Michael’s Corrimal will be held at 10 a.m. Listen and enjoy classic carols sung by St Michael Anglican Church’s local choir (and an ensemble of instruments) all inside their heritage-listed cathedral (established over 160 years ago!).

    Carols on the Lawn: You’re warmly invited to our annual favourite Christmas event, “Carols on the Lawn,” at St. Michael’s Anglican Cathedral in Wollongong! Join the fun from 6 pm on December 22 for delicious food from local food trucks and fun activities for the kids. This event is just behind the Wollongong Police Station at 74 Church St (on the corner of Church and Market Streets). Pack a rug, chairs and a picnic dinner to enjoy on the lawn while singing your favourite carols starting at 7 pm, or bring some cash and buy your dinner on-site. Plus, there will be a lovely complimentary supper afterwards!

    Christmas Carols – Dapto Mall

    Carols & FREE FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT at Dapto Mall

    Enjoy Carols At Dapto Mall by Koonawarra Public School, Thurs 12 Dec, 9.30am near Connor. Plus, Carols by Wollongong Harmony Chorus, Sat 21 Dec, 10am-12 noon, roving both levels of Dapto Mall.

    Plus Dapto Mall have heaps of family fun on offer:

    • SANTA’S ARRIVAL PARADE Saturday 23 November, 9.30am-11.30am
    • Join in for a free family event to welcome Santa to Dapto Mall! At 9.30am Santa arrives on a Dapto Rural Fire Brigade truck outside Espresso Warriors on level 1. Watch the parade throughout the Centre 9.40am-9.50am featuring: Santa, Mrs Claus, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Batman, Minion, Nutcracker brass band, Christmas Elf. There will also be:
    • Free Balloon Sculptures: 9.50am-11.30am
    • Get a Photo with Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: 10.20am-10.40am & 11am-11.20am
    • Get a photo with a Minion: 10am-10.30am
    • Get a photo with Batman: 9.50am-10.20am
    • Brass Band performances: 9.30am-10.15am & 10.45am-11.30am
    • Santa photos will be available from 10.20am onwards, bookings are essential and can be made here. No bookings are required for any activities other than a Santa Photo at the set.

    Christmas Carols – Bulli

    Bulli Anglican Church is all set to host another amazing Christmas Carols and Markets afternoon on the 8th of December. Located at 66 Park Road, Bulli, bring your picnic rug or folding chair and browse the markets filled with homemade Christmas gifts, pottery, plants, cakes and goodies. Enjoy dinner with food trucks on-site, including great pizza, Mexican food, BBQ and more.

    There will also be face painting, a jumping castle, and a photo booth for your Christmas photo. Bulli Anglican Church is also collecting food and toys for Toys ‘n’ Tucker, so bring a toy or food item to donate to those in need this year. Follow the Toys ‘n’ Tucker link for information on what to donate. On Christmas Day, services will be inside the church at 8:30 am and 10 am.

    Carols on the Court will be held at Bulli PCYC on December 8, from 4 pm. It will be hosted by the wonderful team at Village Church, who meet at Bulli PCYC every Sunday at 4 pm. This will be a family-friendly event with Christmas carols and more, where everyone is welcome.

    Join Waniora Public School’s community for their Christmas Carols event on Thursday, November 28th, from 5-7 pm! They will celebrate on the school’s back oval at 17 Ursula Road, Bulli, and they can’t wait to see you there! Get ready to sing along as the school band performs Christmas carols starting at 5:30 pm. And guess who’s coming? Santa will arrive in a fire truck at 6:30 pm, bringing all the holiday cheer! A BBQ and other tasty food will be available from 5 pm, so come hungry! Don’t forget to bring your picnic blanket. Please remember that alcohol isn’t allowed at the event.

    Christmas Carols – Woonona

    Woonona Baptist Church (at 477 Princes Highway) is hosting “Carols on the Grass” on December 8. Join them for food and activities for the whole family, like jumping castles, BBQ and fairy floss. The Christmas carols kick off at 6:30 pm, so grab a chair or blanket to relax on the grass and soak up the festive vibe. On Christmas Eve, the church will host a carols and readings service at 7 pm. On Christmas Day, the church will also hold a service at 9 am.

    Christmas Carols – Albion Park

    Shellharbour City Council is running a huge Carol’s by Candlelight event on the 6th of December from 6-9 pm. It will be held at Centenary Fields (Croome Road Sporting Complex). This is set to be a gorgeous event, with music, circus performers, food vendors (including food for dinner, dessert, and a coffee cart), and an atmosphere full of Christmas cheer. They even have a House of Letters, where your children (or adults) can post a letter to Santa.

    Christmas Carols – Shellharbour

    Illawarra Mega Indoor Christmas Market will be held on December 1 from 10 am until 3 pm at Shellharbour City Stadium. Over 135 market stalls will offer a wide range of goods and services for your Christmas shopping. Santa will attend for free photos with a beautiful backdrop and Christmas craft activities for kids, and the Wollongong Harmony Chorus will sing Christmas carols. You can also enjoy delicious food from various vendors and an on-site cafe. The market will be indoors at a venue with disabled access and ample parking. Entry is a gold coin donation, and children under 12 get in for free.

    Christmas Carols – Figtree

    Figtree Anglican Church knows how to host a fantastic event, especially for Christmas. Their Christmas Carols evening will be held on December 14, from 5:30-9:30 pm. Get ready for a fun-filled evening! Figtree High School will be the site for this free event, featuring classic carols, carnival rides, food vans, and fun activities for kids of all ages, culminating with an impressive fireworks display at 9:25 pm. Don’t miss their special Christmas Day services inside the church at 8:00 am and 9:30 am. They look forward to celebrating with you!

    Christmas Carols – Koonawarra

    Celebrate the holiday season with Koonawarra Public School. On December 6th, enjoy a festive night filled with Christmas stalls, face painting, fun crafts, and the chance to snap a photo with Santa. From 5:30-6:45 pm, they’ll have live music from the talented Sam Lee, plus special guests Tyrell Sloan and Blake Lawrie from the St George Illawarra Dragons!

    Food trucks will be ready to serve up tasty treats from His Boy Elroy, Amigos, Steve’s Mobile Pizza, Dapto Lions Club sausage sizzle, and Normie’s Ice Cream. Remember to grab a lucky door prize ticket on your way in—prizes will be drawn during the event. We can’t wait to see you there! Location: Corner of Fowlers Road & Byamee Street, Dapto, NSW (enter through the Shop Gate off Fowlers Road).

    Christmas Carols – Helensburgh

    The combined churches of Helensburgh are running Combined Churches Carols in the Burgh, behind the Tradie’s Club in Helensburgh (Rex Jackson Park, corner of Park Ave and Blackwell Street). This carols event will be held on December 7. Bring your picnic rug or chair and enjoy entertainment from 6 pm. Carols start at 7:30 pm, and a fireworks display begins at 9 pm. Food stalls are available on site.

    Christmas Carols – Fairy Meadow

    Fairy Meadow Anglican Church (corner of Jardine Street and Princes Hwy, Fairy Meadow) is having a community Christmas Carols event on the 8th of December. Carols start at 6 pm, and there will be various activities, including cookie decorating, a petting zoo, face painting, a jumping castle, and food trucks. After the carols finish, there is an option to stay for a viewing of ‘Home Alone’ at their outdoor cinema, starting at 8 pm. Donate a food item or toy to the charity Toys ‘n’ Tucker while you are there to help those in need (make sure they aren’t perishables).

    Christmas Carols – Austinmer

    Austinmer and Thirroul Anglican Churches are hosting Carols by the Sea on December 8 at 7 pm. Bring your picnic dinner or drinks and a picnic rug or chair to enjoy some traditional and modern Christmas Carols by the beach. Austinmer Anglican Church will hold church services on Christmas Eve at 5 pm and 11 pm. St David’s Thirroul will hold a church service at 9:30 am on Christmas Eve. Then, on Christmas Day, both churches have a 9 am service.

    Christmas Carols – Corrimal

    Corrimal Community Church’s annual Carols in the Street will be held on December 8 at 4 p.m. With an ice cream van, coffee van, and carols starting at 5 p.m., there is something for kids and adults alike. Local artists will perform, and even Santa will make a special appearance!

    St Michael’s Anglican Cathedral in Corrimal (121 Princes Hwy, Corrimal) will be hosting its Carols in Corrimal event on December 21st. Arrive from 6.30 pm onwards for a BBQ dinner, with carols commencing inside at 7 pm. Learn more here.

    Christmas Carols – Dapto

    If markets are your thing and you’re on the lookout for Christmas gifts, this is the place to be! It’s going to be a full day of fun with choirs belting out carols, tasty food, and activities for the kids.

    Join us on December 1st from 10 am-3 pm at The Groundz Precinct in Dapto, right at the Dapto Showground. It’s a fantastic community event with dance schools and choirs performing and tons of entertainment for everyone. Come spread some holiday cheer and enjoy a great time with the community!

    Christmas Carols – Kiama

    Carols in Kiama – Songs of Joy will be held again this year at St Peter and Paul Catholic Church (Manning Street, Kiama). Singing at the event will be the Alchemy Chorus South Coast, Sing Australia Kiama, SingSpace Vocal Ensemble, Food of Love, Katandra Women’s A Capella Choir, SS Peter and Paul School Choir, SS Peter and the Paul Parish Choir. Donations will be collected for the Kiama-based charity Homestead of Hope. Dates TBA.

    Come sing all your favourite Christmas Carols with your family. After a few years of absence, the Christmas Spirit is returning to Hindmarsh Park. There will be food vans, games and even an appearance by our big man in red! Dates TBA.

    Kiama Golf Course is bringing back Carols on the Green this year for another fun-filled night! Join the Christmas spirit, enjoy family fun, and catch the great entertainment. Mark your calendar for December 10, starting at 5:30 pm, and get ready for a festive evening of carols at the golf course!

    Christmas Carols – Yallah

    Lighthouse Church is running a Christmas Carol event at Yallah Woolshed (601 Princes Hwy, Yallah). There are a host of activities that your family will enjoy, like cookie decorating, crafts, face painting, a family photo booth, and family meals from Fine Spun Catering. Family-friendly carols run from 5:30-6:30 pm.

    From 7:15-8 pm, there will be a ‘chill-vibes only’ session, which is relaxed carols specifically for those who need a sensory-friendly environment, young adults, older generations or people who prefer a relaxed style of carols. Young families are highly encouraged to attend the 5:30 session, which is designed for families with young kids. Dates TBA.

    Christmas Carols – Jamberoo

    Churchill Carols are on at Jamberoo Anglican Church (45 Churchill Street, Jamberoo). There is a free sausage sizzle at 5 pm; carols will be held from 6 pm, then supper and all-age games from 7 pm. This special event will be held on the lawn, so bring your picnic rug and drinks to enjoy an evening of new and old Christmas Carols. Learn how they bring us joy and hope. On Christmas Day, there will also be a church service inside the church at 9 am. Dates TBA.
