As the name suggests, this ride is from Sydney and goes through to Wollongong. It starts in Tempe, a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney located 9km south of Sydney central and ends at Thomas Dalton Park in Fairy Meadow.

There are two distances to suit riders of different levels. The km distance options are now 80km and 53km for this year’s ride.

It can take anywhere from 2.5 – 8 hours. There are volunteers along the route to help you.

For families with confident cyclists aged 12 years and over, make the MS Gong Ride a challenge to tackle together! The MS Gong Ride Stats – how joining the MS Gong Ride helps fight MS

There are over 33,300 people in Australia have MS and 10 people are diagnosed every week. It attacks young people in the prime of their lives. Multiple sclerosis is the most common neurological disease in young adults and diagnosis is typically between 20 and 40 years of age, although onset of symptoms may be earlier. There is no known cure.

“On a good day, the MS Gong ride has to be counted among Sydney’s finest events. The opportunity to ride a bike all the way to Wollongong fully supported is a wonderful experience that riders will remember forever. Couple this with the fact that you are making a massive difference for the people with MS and raising awareness for the struggles they face makes the whole show so worthwhile for every participant whether a rider, volunteer, or supporter.” – Aaron Taylor, Team MICH
