Handmade amazing-ness. Don’t miss the Wollongong Makers Market!

The Wollongong Makers Market showcases the creative talents of local artists and artisans, with a plethora of one-of-a-kind handmade wares of exceptional quality.

Come along to browse over 80 stalls displaying outstanding examples of ceramics, knitwear, crochet and sewing, macramé, leatherwork and woodwork. You’ll also discover locally made perfumes, original paintings and prints, cards, hand-dyed clothing, handmade chocolates and much more.

There is a wide range of food stalls with an international flavour, along with coffee and local wines. Relax and enjoy jazz from the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music too!

It’s easy to get to the market. Held at the UOW’s Innovation campus, you can walk, ride, catch the free green bus or drive and park for free. So please come along for a unique shopping experience and support your local artisans. As day dawns, Friday turns the Thursday night markets into the Crown Street (daytime) Markets; with local designers and fresh produce on offer, there are so many stalls to explore. This market is also on weekly and is open Fridays from 9 am – 3 pm. It is located in the same location as the night markets (200 Crown Street, Wollongong, near the amphitheatre). Nan Tien Health and Wellbeing Market, Unanderra

A peaceful day out at the Nan Tien Health and Wellbeing Market

On the first Saturday of each month, the Nan Tien Temple holds their Health & Wellbeing Markets. These are boutique markets filled with peace and happiness. They are located within the tranquil grounds of the Nan Tien Institute (231 Nolan Street, Unanderra). If you’d like, you can use the footbridge to enter the Nan Tien Temple grounds. This is the biggest Buddhist Temple in Australia. Parking and access are available from either car park.

Activities include free kids yoga classes, free tai chi classes held from 9:30-10:30 am, and free mindfulness and meditation classes held from 10:30-11 am. The art gallery is open from 9 am-2 pm. The vegan and vegetarian cafe is open from 9 am-2 pm. Live music from 12-1 pm.

Red Point Arts: Arts & Crafts on the Grass and The Wentworth Markets, Port Kembla

Red Point Arts holds a monthly market at The Wentworth and a monthly Art & Craft on the Grass day. These two events are offset so that every fortnight, there is an event to enjoy and set to inspire you.

Arts & Crafts on the Grass is a thriving art hub with exhibitions and live music. This event is held on the second Saturday of the month.

The Wentworth Markets are full of stalls with flowers, gifts, and collectibles. This artisan market creates a sense of community and a shared love of creativity. It is a firm fixture at The Wentworth, Port Kembla, which is located at 96-106 Wentworth Street, Port Kembla. These markets are held on the last Saturday of the month from 10 am – 2 pm. In December, the markets change dates.

Extra markets are occasionally held on a public holiday. Extra markets are held in April, June, and January.

Kiama Farmer’s Market

Kiama Farmer’s Market is a great place to meet with local food producers, artisans, and farmers to buy locally and directly from the farm. Join the community for a fun afternoon and support local food production. These markets are held in the centre of town in the town square (at Coronation Park, Surf Beach, Kiama) and are held in the Pavilion if the weather is wet. These markets are held every Wednesday from 3-6 pm (or 2-5 pm in Winter).

The markets are full of stalls by local artists, hidden treasures, and good vibes. Due to the markets being held on the Department of Education grounds, it is not a pet-friendly market.

Eats & Beats Street Food Market, Nowra

Bring your appetite! Eats and Beats in Nowra serves up monthly deliciousness

Having a night off cooking once a month (if not more often) sounds very appealing to me. Eats and Beats at Jellybean Park (Egans Lane), Nowra have you covered. This family-friendly event offers great food and a relaxed, fun midweek evening out. Food truck cuisine includes burgers, Indonesian, pizza, cakes, BBQ, ice cream, and more. This market is on the third Wednesday of every month from 4-7 pm.

Warrawong Markets

Jamberoo Village Markets are held at Reid Park (Allowrie Street, Jamberoo) on the last Sunday of every month.

Fresh flowers, plants, art, crafts, jams, and preserves are available here. These markets are held at 108A Tongarra Road, Albion Park and run on the first Sunday of every month from 9 am – 2 pm.

Kangaroo Valley Farmers Market has its local growers and makers at its heart. It aims to provide sustainable food choices and support local growers and makers. Set in a beautiful location. You can expect to find meat, fruit and vegetables, eggs, honey, and olive oil. Locally made pickles, jams, and crafts are also on offer here.This market is located at The Friendly Inn (159 Moss Valley Road, Kangaroo Valley) on the second Sunday of each month from 9 am-1 pm.

Moss Vale Showground Market

Treat yourself at Moss Vale Showgrounds Market

Moss Vale Showgrounds Market is set in the grounds of the Iconic Moss Vale Showground (16 Illawarra Highway, Moss Vale) on the third Sunday of each month (excluding the dates that fall from January through March) from 9 am – 2 pm. It is a beautiful location with shady trees and an undercover area. This market features over 90 stalls from local artisans with handmade crafts, jams, relishes, soaps, candles, giftwares and art. Live music will play throughout the day with rides, show bags and great fun activities for kids. The miniature train rides run throughout the day on every market day. Come down, wander through the grounds, and grab a coffee, freshly baked bread, street foods, pastries, and fresh flowers every market day.

This market aims to please everyone and accommodates public toilets and plenty of parking. They also love fur babies, so bring them on a leash. All of the funds raised will go to help build community infrastructure in the Moss Vale area.

Milton Village Showground Market

Milton Village Showground Market is located in the Iconic Township of Milton on the South Coast. With over 90 stallholders selling some unique handmade and specialised gifts for everyone. Live music will play throughout the day, and you can enjoy some delicious street foods, coffee and pastries, freshly baked breads, pancakes and homemade jams, relishes and local honey. For the over 18’s, you can sample some local wines, gin, vodka and liqueurs while there and spicy salamis too. Milton-Ulladulla Lions will have their BBQ operating on market days, and during holiday times, the Ferris wheel ride will be there for the kids to enjoy. Bring a picnic blanket with you. There are plenty of open spaces to laze in the sunshine while enjoying the market vibe. It starts at 9 am and finishes at 2 pm and is on the first Saturday of every month.

Jervis Bay Maritime Museum Market

During the cooler months (May to September) these are held on the first Sunday of  every month at Jervis Bay Maritime Museum (Woolamia Rd, Huskisson) from 10 am-3 pm. During the warmer months (October to April), the markets move to the Saturday evening and become a twilight market, which is held on the first Saturday of each month.

Culburra Beach Markets

Held on the first Sunday of every month from 8 am – 1:30 pm. Located at Culburra Community Centre (210 Prince Edward Avenue, Culburra Beach).

Callala Bay Markets

On the second Saturday of every month from 8 am-1 pm. These are at Callala Community Centre (42 Emmett St, Callala Bay).

Sunday Market Bateman’s Bay

Held on the first and third Sunday of the month, 9 am – 1 pm. along the Waterfront Foreshore Precinct (Clyde Street, Batemans Bay).

Pyree Village Art and Handmade Market

Pyree Village Art and Handmade Market Held on the fourth Sunday of every month 9 am – 1:30 pm (In December they are held on the third Sunday of the month). These are at 888 Greenwell Point Road, Pyree, NSW, 2540.

Moruya Country Market

If you are down in the Moruya area on a Saturday morning, these markets are a not to be missed event. They are set on the beautiful Moruya River and run from 8 am – 12:30 pm at Riverside Park (on Ford Street, Moruya). Hosting 130 stalls, there is every kind of stall including bakery goods, gourmet pizza, local meat and produce straight from the farm, local seafood straight from the boat, and even blueberry ice cream from Clyde River Berry Farm (when blueberries are in season). Add to this, the gorgeous flower arrangements, and craft goods, and a playground right at the beginning of the markets to keep the kids happy, it’s a fantastic morning out.

If you are staying in the area, check out the Tuesday SAGE Markets as well, where local farmers come to sell their produce, straight from the farm, or straight off the boat. They are on every Tuesday from 3-5 pm.
